Gregorio Juarez Sanchez, Metal Craftsman, San Miguel de Allende

Gregorio Juarez Sanchez was born in San Miguel de Allende and has lived here his entire life. He began his career as a craftsman at the age of fourteen, working as an apprentice to Juan Bautista until his mentor’s death.

Gregorio is currently making whimsical insects from tin, brass, copper or stainless steel which he embellishes with acrylic paint.

Gregorio also makes many other objects including lamps, nichos, boxes, trunks, candle holders, garden lanterns, photo holders, crosses inset with talavera tiles, mirror frames, punched tin cabinet doors, etc.

Gregorio has a good friend from the nearby village of Tequisquiapan, who is an excellent carpenter, and who assists him with some of the furniture pieces which Gregorio then inlays with his tooled metal work.

Gregorio is a family man with a lovely wife, five children and four grandchildren. He is a fine person and a good neighbor! If you want a special design show the drawing to Gregorio – he welcomes the opportunity of creating special orders.
