Low-Cost Mexican Airline Begins Flights To SD

SAN DIEGO — The Mexican low-cost airline Volaris begins nonstop service to Guadalajara and Mexico City from San Diego Friday.

The carrier, a partner of Southwest Airlines, will be welcomed Friday with water cannon salutes for their jets after they land.
Both Mexican cities will be served once daily:
— Flight 954 departs Guadalajara at 11:10 a.m. and arrives in San Diego at 12:10 p.m.;
— Flight 955 leaves San Diego at 1:30 p.m. and gets to Guadalajara at 6:30 p.m.;
— Flight 956 takes off from Mexico City at 7:30 a.m. and lands in San Diego at 9 a.m.; and
— Flight 957 flies away from San Diego at 10:20 a.m. and ends up in Mexico City at 3:40 p.m.

Other nonstop destinations in Mexico from Lindbergh Field are Cabo San Lucas and Puerto Vallarta, both served by Alaska Airlines.
