When I am not in Mexico I’m usually in Canada and if I’m not eating at home you can find me at La Taquisa – my home away from Mexico. La Taquisa opened up a few months ago and is a welcome addition to Victoria’s restaurant scene. The best thing about La Taquisa is that they prepare their own tortillas from scratch. As a matter of fact, all the cuisine is prepared from Auntie ‘s recipes.
So if you’re in the mood for a hot Mexico night take a jaunt down to Cook Street Village and order up a burrito (they’re huge!), an order of tacos or some traditional tortillas soup. And keep your calendar ready for their new location in the Westside Village Mall over the Bay Street Bridge in ‘sunny’ Victoria, B.C.!
